Feature wall materials for the UAE climate
Heat, humidity and constant air-conditioning are hard on materials. Here is what to choose for indoor, coastal and outdoor walls in the UAE.

UAE interiors live in two climates at once: hot, humid air outside and cool, dry air-conditioning inside. Materials expand and shrink as they move between the two. Choosing the right material keeps a feature wall looking perfect for years.
Indoors: stability first
For indoor walls we use moisture-resistant MDF and wood veneer on stable cores. They move far less than solid wood, so joints stay tight and flutes stay straight.
If you love solid timber, we use kiln-dried wood and let it sit in the room for a few days before installation, so it adjusts to your home's humidity.
Near the coast
Homes on the Palm, the Marina, Al Marjan Island or the east coast face higher humidity. Choose sealed finishes on all faces of each panel, and avoid unsealed raw wood in rooms that are not always air-conditioned.
Outdoors
For terraces, gardens and façades, powder-coated aluminium is the reliable choice. It does not rot, warp or rust, and wood-effect coatings give a warm look.
Sunlight
Strong sun can fade or yellow some finishes. Near large windows, choose UV-stable lacquers or painted finishes, or plan for natural ageing of oiled wood.
Commercial spaces
Hotels, malls and offices often need fire-rated materials. GRG and treated timber meet these needs.
